George A. Williams, President and CEO
George Williams is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for PMI Energy Solutions, LLC. As the CEO of PMI Energy Solutions, LLC, Mr. Williams is responsible for electrical construction and maintenance services in the utility industry.
With 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry, Mr. Williams began his career with PMI Energy Solutions, LLC after serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for El Paso Electric Company. As the COO, Mr. Williams oversaw the generation, construction, transmission & distribution, system operations, environmental, health & safety, and outage and emergency response. He came to El Paso from ComEd, where he served as Senior Vice President of Operations. ComEd is a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation. He has also held various executive and senior operational positions with Entergy, PPL, Progress Energy, and PECO Energy.
Mr. Williams has appeared three times on the prestigious 50/100 Most Important Blacks in Technology list (in 2005, 2006, and 2008) in U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine. He has been selected as one of Chicago’s Interesting Personalities in Who’s Who in Black Chicago, recognized by Diversity MBA Magazine as a 2008 Executive Leader, the Chicago United 2009 Business Leaders of Color, American Association of Blacks in Energy 2014 Energy Entrepreneur Of The Year and the Quad County Urban League 2014 Honoree Of The Year.
Mr. Williams is a member of the Board of Directors/Trustees for Underwriters Laboratory (UL). He is also an active member and board member on numerous civic and professional organizations including American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), Immediate Past Chairman of the Board, Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, Business Leadership Council, Museum of Science & Industry Black Creativity Advisory Board and the Quad County Urban League, Board of Directors.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Widener University.
Kelvin D. Owens, Chief of Staff
With more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry, Kelvin Owens is a versatile executive with two decades as a strategic problem-solver with a very strong customer focus. He has become a valuable asset to PMIES as the Chief of Staff in May 2016. In this role, he directly oversees the daily back-office operations including accounting, planning, estimating, project management and fleet maintenance. He is the point of contact and gatekeeper between the CEO and other stakeholders and manages the administrative support staff. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago-Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwood University (Magna Cum Laude).
Justin “JR” Reese, Operations Manager
As the Operations Manager at PMIES, Justin Reese oversees field operations to ensure that projects remain on track and cost-efficient. He has been an integral part of the team for more than two years. Prior to joining the PMIES family, Justin served as an operations manager at ComEd, an Exelon company for five years. On a daily basis, he is found visiting crews, responding to customers’ needs along with creating proposals for new business and expansion. For Justin, the most rewarding aspect of working at PMIES is the fact that everyone’s contributions are welcomed and in turn the collaboration helps the business grow.
Lawrence Gaston, Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety
With more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, Lawrence Gaston has been committed to implementing a comprehensive safety program at PMIES for two years. He has served in various roles at ComEd, an Exelon company, while having nine years to solely focus on safety protocols. He’s a firm believer that the “common sense” approach is valuable in the workplace along with continuous training to maintain an injury and incident-free work environment. His efforts are critical to ensuring employees are set up for success while on each job site. Gaston holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Elmhurst College.
George Allen, Superintendent of Operations
George Allen has 33 years of experience in the utility industry. Starting his career in 1984 as a meter reader for ComEd, an Exelon company, he has held various roles ranging from field foreman, dispatcher and even line worker. After retiring in January 2016, George joined the PMIES team as the Assistant Superintendent and is now the Superintendent of Operations. In this position, George supports the Operations Manager with all aspects of the field operations, particularly in the areas of fleet management, new business acquisitions and field staff oversight. He’s driven by a daily commitment of ensuring the customer is always satisfied.
